Easter
Thursday and Friday 4/9 and 4/10 is a camp organized for the Church of the Holy Apostles focusing on the Easter Story. The camp is intended primarily for the children of families attending the church but is open to anyone else who would like to join. It will be overtly religious in the sense that we will build the Easter story from Jesus entering Jerusalem to him rising from his grave, but it is intended to be a relaxed approach with plenty of room for creative interpretation of the story and the focus will be on Lego building not on religious teaching.
Easter camp is from 9-3 ($90) with possible free aftercare/hangout time till 4

Hana Matsuri
Thursday and Friday 4/16 and 4/17 is a camp themed for the Cherry Blossom Festival at Brooklyn Botanical Garden. On Thursday we’ll walk to the garden and visit the Japanese Garden and the Cherry Blossom Esplanade (where we’ll stop and do some Lego building). On Friday we’ll make our own Lego Japanese garden.
Hana Matsuri camp is from 9-3 ($90), with aftercare available from 3-5 ($30).

All camps take place at the Church of the Holy Apostles 612 Greenwood Ave.

Camp is open to children in K through 5th grade. It’s from 9-3 each day and takes place in the Church of the Holy Apostles 612 Greenwood Ave.

Early drop off is available from 8am and aftercare is available till 5.

Each day we begin with a major building project working in groups. We will break for lunch and a runaround at the playground around eleven, and have afternoon snack at 1:30. You send the lunch, we provide a snack of dry Honey nut Cheerios and Golden Grahams. After lunch we return to our Lego projects and add smaller details.

The building approach will vary with the theme but there are several main components:
Small step by step builds: we sit in a circle and everyone builds the same small kit following the teacher’s instructions.
Lego kits: Students works in pairs to build official Lego kits with the instruction booklets.
Guided free building: Depending on the scale of the project this can be done as individuals or in groups as large as four, the teacher will present general guidelines for the build and display an example and the children will be given appropriate supplies to design their own.
Free building: Lot’s of Lego, a general idea of the theme and then free for all.
